Sustainability Is More Than a Buzzword at Spearhead

Crafting Sustainable Spirits

For Spearhead sustainability is not a buzzword, our products are crafted in our fully solar powered distillery and we ensure that our raw products, which are acquired for the production of our spirits, are procured from suppliers who are both sustainable, environmentally responsible, and organic.

Preserving Wildlife

We have partnered with Ho Technical University, Ghana, to preserve Africa’s legendary Baobab tree.If you’ve never heard of the Baobab tree, you would have seen Rafiki sitting in it , in the film, The Lion King. This sacred tree not only inspired the name of our gin ‘Bayab’, but its fruit is the core botanical at the heart of our award winning gins.

The Baobab Tree is central to Bayab’s story, which is why we have partnered with Ho Technical University, joining like minded partners to fund the Baobab research and regeneration project.

This project aims to accelerate the Baobab tree’s growth process, improve the cultivation of the tree and ultimately protect Baobabs from the eradication they face as the baobab fruit grows in popularity.

Energy & Footprint

Spearhead is committed to reducing and eradicating harmful environmental factors.

Fermentation Process - the water used in this process is recycled water obtained from the distillation process.

Molasses is one of our key ingredients in manufacturing our product, and this ingredient is a by-product from local sugar refineries, which is recycled into making ethanol.

Concentrated molasses solids are a byproduct from our process. This material is not discarded but instead sold to local farmers and is used as feed and fertilizer.
